Research conducted by the Barna Group, found that for as much as 91% of Americans, outside of the church between the ages of 16 & 29, the first thing that comes to mind when they hear Christian is "antihomosexual". (from the book unChristian by David Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons p. 28). theycallherlove's stance on the subject is the overwhelmingly popular opinion for her demographic. I'll agree with most of you that righteous zeal against something that is a sin is a good thing. But why is antihomosexuality what we are known for? Why is this what *my* generation defines Christianity as? Was this what the early church was known for? Was this what Christ was known for? Have we forgotten what we are really about as Christians? We are for Christ! We are called to proclaim Him It was He that drew us out of darkness. Without him, we are no better off than those that we are so quick to call judgment on. Well, To begin, I am Missionary Baptist, so this is from our (my) point-of-view. The Bible specifically says that Homosexuality is a sin, just like lying, adultry, ect... We believe that you are not a Christian until you are saved. When you are saved you want to not sin anymore, you want to live more like Christ and we do this by reading our Bibles and see how he wants us to live. It will NOT be an easy process, it is very hard, and when you get saved the Devil attacks you even more, and it gets worse when you are called to teach our preach the Gospel. I mean it is wrong to be: a prejudice liar, a drunkard, a "potty-mouth", an arrogant-person, to love money more than God. That is why we should not down Gays, because they have chosen to be Gay, but rather show them the love of christ, because Romans 5:8 makes it very clear that not one person is worthy of Jesus.

Homosexuality is completely wrong, a sin, as you've all stated. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10-- Don't you know that those who do wrong will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, abusers, and swindlers- none of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God. Because of that, I don't believe homosexuals will enter the kingdom of heaven. Plain and simple. You can be gay and then become, well, not gay, and if you do that you have the door of God's kingdom reopened to you. You can't be a homosexual. That's not discrimination on my part, that's what the Bible says, does it not?
