I would suggest using tampons. Pads for the first couple times, but for me i live on tampons they are way more comfortable and you dont have to worry about it leaking through your pants. A lot of girls say it hurts but once you get the hang of putting them in, its no problem. Just read the directions in the box over and over again. it helps if you just cant get it, trust me.

You just stretch the back out a little with the string, put your finger on the back to support it and push it in [you know where] until you can't feel it when you're moving around.
