A generation that seeks

What's happened to God in our society? I go to a small Christian school, with about 50 people from 7th grade to 12th grade. (Only about 100 students total.) Every day I witness someone struggling with their books, their faith, and with their self image. I believe that at least one half of our school is struggling with God. Why? We get all the support we need. I believe it is because of our peers. I was once getting really into my worship, and afterwards, I saw some of the boys mocking me. In a Christian school, I find that just so... frustrating. Even on a Christian website, the girls are all asking about boys, and what to do. We should know what to do. If we were properly brought up, then our standards should be as well as anyone else on this site. Again, I ask... What's happened to God in our society? I pray that God will open our eyes, and that we will be a generation that seeks God. That we will strive for him, and not for personal gain, or entertainment. I don't know why I posted this really, it was just pressing on my heart, and I needed to say something. Sorry if I offended anyone, but this is what I believe. ~~Lydia

Lydia, don't ever worry about offending someone with the truth. :) I really agree with what you are saying. Truthfully, it's the Christian's fault for God not being present in this generation. About 60 years ago, a few athiest... well, whiners, for lack of a better word, decided it 'offended' them that God was in schools. They got a law passed saying that no one is allowed to pray in school for fear of 'offending' someone, and you know what? If what I've been told is true (and I'm positive it is), they got almost no opposition. Why? Because Christians didn't want to hurt anyone's 'feelings' and be seen as narrow-minded. That makes me, at least, sick. Since then, as you've seen, Christians are trying to be more and more 'relevent', and are trading being real. Therefore, any time anyone wants to change a law or rule that says , "Get out, God!", Christians in America today let it happen. Not all, but a lot. Too much, obviously. We are being lured into apathy and complacency, afraid to stand up for what we believe in for fear of being seen as; weak, narrow-minded, offensive (), self-riotous and unrelatable. My question is: Since when in the Bible has any true follower of Christ cared about anything other than the truth? *shakes head* The truth is what this country is lacking, and it's only the truth that will bring God back. So, why are we so afraid to speak the truth? [EDIT] Got a question for athiests. If you don't believe in God, thus meaning you believe we all come from meaningless pond scum and therefore are meaningless ourselves, and think that God is just a crutch, how come you get so 'offended' when someone does believe?? Shouldn't you be... I don't know... Scornful? Just a thought... :silly: I mean, come one, what's so offensive about believing people really do have a purpose here, other than being highly evolved pond scum, born of a freak accident that even scientists say couldn't ever happen?? Huh, huh??? Ok, sorry, my rant's done. And no, I DON'T apologize if I offended anyone.
