I am not a big fan of them, but then I have known several friends who had them when they were younger, but wished they didn't have one. I say IF you get one, think long and hard, because it doesn't go away, and age and changed in the shape of your body will change your tat. So, if you give it all a lot of thought and still decide to do it, go for something small, and something that can be covered. Avoid your breast and chest area.. IMO, because it's just not cool to have one showing w/ dresses and things, especially the day of your wedding if you are still single.

Love them great way to express a feeling and some great art work but make sure it has a meaning and not just something off a wall or what everyone else has. I think that some people collect art to hang on a wall and some wear theres but hey your still young and what can't get one till your 18 or 21 so you have plenty of time to really think what you want and make sure it gets done by a pro remember it's on you and it will be there for as long as you wish.

Hello, Please read the following scriptures: 1 Corinthians 6;19-20 and Leviticus 19:28 Hope this helps you in this serious decision. Pray and ask the Lord to give you His view. Don't follow the crowd, but follow His Spirit.

The down side is that it's painful, it can cause an adverse skin reaction, and if you choose unwisely, it would be even more painful to remove imperfectly. The up side is if you choose a tattoo that identifies you as a Christian, it can be a good means of accountability.

Hey. I just saw your post/question on here about tatoos. I think they are used as a way to express yourself these days. However, your expressions change as you get older, and tatoos don't change. I think it's sad how tatoos have become an addiction in today's society. Yes, an addiction. My son started getting them at 18 years old. Then in the military, he got two or three more. He now has 9 of them at age 26. He admits it is an addiction. He has his (ex-) wife's name tatooed across his lower back. Now he has to cover it up or spend a lot of money having it removed. Well, you asked for advice from someone 35+, so you got it. Stay out of tatoo shops!

Keep in mind that as you get older, you will want a job somewhere that pays more than minimum wage. One of my friends has tattoos and he has to keep them covered while at work. In his case that means sometimes wearing long sleeves even during the hottest weather. He also has to wear a t-shirt all year long, because most dress shirts are slightly see through. Personally, as long as they are in good taste, I do not mind them. They are just not professional. So if you get one, put it where you don't mind covering. For example, have one on you upper arm, where a short sleeved shirt will cover it up. That way, when you are somewhere that you don't need to cover it up, you can wear a modest sleeveless top. Just the opinion of a 36 yo.
