Hey can someone help me understand something in Exponent? Here's the question: -4 squared Now would the answer be negative and break the rules of negative multipication or positive according to the rules of negative multipication? My das is in Bozeman right now and won't be back until Thurs. night. Can someone help me please?

negative four squared equals positive sixteen -4²=16

Yep, it follows the rule of negative multiplication. It's the same as -4X-4 and the negatives cancel out
