I'm about 5' 4" and I weigh roughly around 160 pounds (I don't know for certain how much I weigh 'cause I don't have a scale and I haven't been weighed in a long time). I want to loose some weight (maybe about 15 pounds or so), but I have never successfully (spelling?) done that no matter how hard I tried before. Do any of you have suggestions as to what I could do to loose the weight? I am open to any ideas on how to eat better or how to exercise better too (as long as it's not some rediculous diet like the Atkins diet (no offense to those of you who use it) and it's safe to use). Don't worry, I'm not gonna turn anorexic or bulimic (and I'm not anorexic or bulimic right now either, as a matter of fact), I just want to honestly loose some weight 'cause I don't want a pouchy stomach hanging over my pants! horsechic1990 P.S. I have Tae Bo tapes and ab workout tapes too.

I'm a big fitness freak, as my friends like to say. I have done cross country consistently for 7 years and i like to weightlift. First of all, i wouldn't worry so much about what you weigh in numbers, instead work on improving what you've got. If you want a flatter tummy running consistently will help, that means at least 4-5 days a week and when you run you gotta break a sweat and keep it up for about 30 min for a good workout. Then situps and crunches will definitly help and if you can get into a gym where they have back strengthening machines those will help your body to be able to keep nice abs, i would do those after your run. As for dieting, I love to eat so this is the hardest part for me personally. But i've found that if you are hungry and want a snack, don't go for the sugary foods like snack bars, candy, or chips. Instead reach for an apple, bannana, or an orange, fruit is an awesome snack food. Also bread that is whole grains are better for you than white. Also when it comes to meals make sure you watch what you are eating, if you like the food and want more ask yourself "am i really still hungry?" If you have any more questions feel free to ask me! GOod luck!!!

Some things are to ALWAYS eat breakfast...(oatmeal is REALLY good for you, but if you don't like it you can add some applesauce and it taste great like that!) Also NEVER eat after 7:00pm. Eat all wheat bread because it helps cut down your appitite...thats just some stuff to do..and don't feel like it's immpossible because i lost 19 pounds and I'm 13 (my friends thought I was razy but I really needed to lose the weight) Hope that helps some...
