The midget just turned three! I find that completely insane, but never mind. Sadly I missed the big day but pictures and their captions from Facebook: Samara in her new supermarket. Making a milkshake with her very own blender! Bear in mind, that the only dinosaur Samara knows is Dorothy the Dinosaur. Now, picture her walking through Woolies with Christiana and I (no riding in the trolley for this 'bid dirl') And she spots this totally girly (?!) dinosaur with flashing red eyes. She gets so excited she yells out 'didador ROAR'! We have so much trouble dragging her away from it, that Christiana gives in and buys it for her birthday. Then, when she unwraps it, the excitement was so much that her whole body started shaking! It was so incredibly funny! Samara knew the dinosaur could roar, but it wasn't until it was out of the box that she found out it could walk too! You should have seen her crawling along beside him chatting away and totally in awe of him! Well, she may have chosen a 'boys' toy, but she knew how to love it like a girl! (Let it be known that I, Sara, find this caption inappropriate bordering on offensive but whatever. Mum and I will never agree on gender roles/stereotypes) In the days leading up to her birthday, every time anyone mentioned the word birthday Samara would sign monkey, say ooh ooh ahh ahh, and then say dake. Where she got the idea of wanting a monkey cake from I don't know. But since her party was over a week after her actual birthday, we went to Woolies on her birthday and bought some cupcakes and added some jungle animal toppers (including the 2 monkeys which were both asigned to her!) Then [friend] and her kids came over and shared them with us in a special mini party.

She's so adorable... :) Personally, I agree with you on the gender roles/stereotypes thing...
