Like PreachersKid said, you could do something like Heart of Worship and/or Open the Eyes of My Heart. At the church I go to, we do those songs. In fact, I'm singing them in the worship band this week. So it would be cool if you did songs like that. Maybe Majestic, too, if you've ever heard of that. Here's a list of some songs you could do: Better is One Day Come, Now is the Time to Worship Open the Eyes of My Heart Awesome God Heart of Worship Majestic and so on..... Hope that helps!!! -Anko

I play music at my church for 3rd graders and its just me on the guitar and singing, I also sing with an adult group at my church. I can give you music if you want. I have tons as in hundreds of songs mostly contemporary and i have all the chords for guitar playing. :) Let me know, you can drop me an email on my page. :) I hope this will help you.B)

I don't think there is much I could add to what has already been said, but this will probably be helpful for me as I'm about to start leading worship too. For a couple months I've been playing on and off with my 3rd youth group I attend, but our leader can't make it the nights I can much anymore, but my 2nd youth group is starting a little praise band. So far it will be me on acoustic and maybe a little percussion (hopefully to keep me on a more stable tempo). There is actually another person who might play a second acoustic, which means I could also go electric but I'd rather not. I actually taught myself to play acoustic and I'm working on some better electric techniques. I have sort of a hobby now of taking songs that are normally done all or mostly electric and making my own acoustic versions just for the heck of it. I also like to take some of the "standard" praise and worship songs and kind of do my own thing with them. I make up my own intros and different strumming rhythms and things like that.

Hey, I forgot about this thread. Last time I checked it out one of my youth groups was thinking about Sunday night praise and worship. Now I've been leading that solo, just me on acoustic and singing (but I might start having someone play djemba(sp?) with me), for over a month and now I'm leading a youth band back at my old church. It will be interesting since we are starting with a very inexperienced group, but hopefully we will be able to make some things work before I have to leave for college. I've also started playing electric guitar Sunday mornings at my new church, but I'm not in charge there, so I play the songs they tell me too (although I'm given quite a bit of freedom to improv. based off the chords I'm given) and don't have much to do with choosing them (but they choose pretty cool ones so I can't complain)
