I was thinking the other day.....I've posted things in here before about Baptism and pretty much all you gals agreed that it is not needed to be saved but then also said that its good to show you are Christian, so here's my thoughts, just to get them out, you don't have to read if you don't want to. ^^ So, If you think, back then when people were baptized, it was in a sea or a lake, in front of many people, and only people who wanted to believe in Christ and God and wanted to be saved went to show they were Christian. So does it mean anything today? I really don't think it does, you will have non-christians who may never even become Christians get baptized and then talk about it like it means something, and then the true Christians say they did it to show they were Christian...to the church though, everyone in the church saw, and no one else did, it wasn't in front of a great multitude, just your church. And if you are baptized, why talk about it like it means something when now-a-days it really doesn't, no offense to anyone but a couple of the peeps I've talked to sometimes sound like they think they're better cuz they believe in Christ, they have him in they're heart oh, and they were baptized to! goody goody! I have not been baptized, and I think if I went around saying I was...it would do nothing, the best way to show you are Christian is through your words and your actions, not if someone has dunked you in water or not. God and Jesus mean something, not baptism.... sorry, just a rant type thing. :P :side: teehee ^^ And please no one argue, I almost got scared away from the forums completely by arguing people. <.< >.>:pinch:

i think its important to be baptised, it says to everyone, that yeah, i was saved, and yeah i still did bad things but now, ill try again, and when you do it infront of everyone, it basiclly says God, i'm willing to say i was bad and want to be made good again all for you

How does it say that? Not arguing, just curious. Because non christians get baptized all the time and then talk about it like it means something....and if thats so then in the end...does it mean anything? And you're only doing it in front of your church, and then you only have you words saying "well i was baptized" like it means a big deal. Asking Jesus into your heart is what you should do to say I was bad but I want you into my life to make me better.

Baptism is important, if for no other reason than that we are commanded to do it. I may not know the whys and wherefores, but if He says so, we do it.
