Ok so i've been dating my boyfriend now for 5 months, its really exciting he is the best choice i've made when it comes to guys and he is a very strong christian like me. I want to know what you all think about saying "I love you" to a guy. I have always been on the belief that i love you means forever as in a lifetime like marriage sort of a thing. I have never had problems with this in the past because when my ex for example said "i love you" I couldn't respond the same. But now I have this feeling that won't go away and i really do think i love him! (my bf) I know to not rush things and we have been doing great he is the best person i could ever ask for and i wouldn't trade him for anything. I can see us together for a very long time, i hope. And he is someone i could definitly see myself marrying in the long time future. (i don't want to marry till like after college) I think he feels the same way but i dont' know if i should talk to him about it, just say it, or just let it be. What do you ladies think? THANKS!

There really is no cookie cutter guideline for this type of thing, but I can tell you my own personal experience. ;) My boyfriend and I have been dating/courting (depending on how you define either) for over two years now. I've never kissed a guy before and want to wait until I know that the first man I kiss will be the one I marry. My boyfriend respects and accepts that, and to him, saying "I love you" is kind of the same way. He's not going to say that to someone until he can honestly say that he puts her needs above his and is ready to commit his life to her. I think it's noble and have come to think the same way. What either of you do is up to you and your own personal views. It's different for everyone. One thing I would suggest is that you don't say it before he does, or at least until you know where he stands on it.

i wouldn't say i love u to him unless u were more than 100% sure u really meant it!!! it, in my opinion is not something u say just to say it. even to a mom or dad or something. i mean if u do not love ur parents u shouldn't say that u do. even though u should love ur parents!!!! anyway only tell ur bf u love him if u are sure u will never regret it!!! also u should pray about it and ask God for guidence. good luck!!!!!

Thank you! I have been praying about this for over a month now and i think finally i was patient enough becuase i didn't have to wait much longer, he said it to me today and before i replied i asked him what he believes love to mean and he said forever.... <3 :silly: And you know it felt really good to finally tell him i love him, :) and i agree this is only something that should be said if it is meant and is true. I meant it and i believe he did too. Thanks all!
