Pretty much all the girls i know dance...Except for me of course...I used to, but then the studio wanted me to be up there almost every day of the week, and they wanted me to do pointe (which i was against because of the damage it does to your feet and ankles in the long run) so i quit dance...

(no offense intended of course) or maybe they put you in pointe too soon? Idk. But as long as you do it right, and unlike Russian ballet which requires your feet to be turned out all of the way all the time causing u to possibly get hip arthritis. I don't see where it would hurt your feet... But I could be wrong...wouldn't be the first time... Oh yeah, the point of this thread... (no pun intended! cuz that would be lame...) what do you need help with?

And it really only damages your feet if you don't prepare your feet! But I was born turned out all the way because God made me a dancer.

So, i quit dance...i had taken a worship/modern class, that i had really enjoyed, but the teacher left, so i found no point in my staying and continuing to dance there...my little sister dances there now though... But anyways, I hope the author of this thread replies back soon, so that they can get the help they need...

It hurt like heck. But I know it hurt my ankles. They still crack all the time...

ive been dancing for quite a while, and ive begun to notice that know matter how long youve been dancing i mean some ppl can dance for like 15 yrs and not be that great, but some could be dancing for 5 yrs and be amazing! its the gift that God has given to you that can make someone so amazing at it! Now to the whole pointe messing up you feet, ive been on pointe for almost 3 yrs, and it hasnt messed my feet up, the only way it can mess your feet up is if you take pointe to soon, they say taht you should be doing ballet for atleast 5 yrs, and your feet and ankles should be strong! IF there not then dont take it, thats what damages your feet! ok just figured i would share that..lol katie
