You know ive heard the “thief in the night argument so many times” but each time someone uses it to support a “pre trib rapture” it carries NO weight, because a person has to twist the context / meaning of “thief in the night” something shocking, to make it fit a “pre trib rapture”. The two main ways to bust up the “thief in the night” argument is this: First, 1 Thessalonians 5:2-5 CLEARLY says that Jesus is ONLY coming like a thief to the UNSAVED!! Verse 4 CLEARLY says that the saints will NOT be caught as a thief! (therefore people cant say “Jesus could come at any time, so we have have to be ready because he is coming like a thief”) 1 Thessalonians 5 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. The second main way to destroy the thief argument, is to remind people of the ONE “thief in the night” verse which they ALWAYS leave out. Which is 2 pet 3:10 which CLEARLY says that at the moment He comes like a thief, simultaneously, the heavens burn up and melt away!!! With GREAT NOISE! And FERVENT HEAT!! Therefore, coming as a thief has NOTHING to do with it being a “secret coming” (as pre tribbers teach / believe) rather its simply a reminder that if your walking in darkness (spiritually blind) then YOU will be caught like a thief (at the second coming when the skies melt with fire) 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Amen, these scriptures and the above meanings cannot be denied. It supports my original assertion: 1 rapture (which is actually the second coming) after the tribulation days. Amen.
