Okay, I don't know about you guys...girls...? But I'm tired of seeing women walking around with skirts up to their hoo-ha and showing their breasts. My husband and I have to pray nearly 4 ties a day because of some outfit a woman was wearing. And what's up with these bathing suits?!? LET'S JUST WALK AROUND NAKED AND SEE WHAT KIND OF ATTENTION WE ATTRACT!! You might as well be walking around in underwear!!! I am fed up with all of these immodest ads, billboards, pictures on the internet, and all that jazz. I'm not saying that everyone has to be amish or menonite, but please keep your clevage and yor legs covered?? is that too much to ask?!?!? not all of your legs, but certainly not see-through skirts. I litteraly saw a girl at my church wearing a see-through skirt and she was jumping around. My husband had to pray it out of his heart. please girls, help me in this. Am I wierd to want to stay holy before the lord and keep y body covered and saved for only my husband to look at?

i think this is a hard topic to discuss, i don't think it's weird or wrong for you to reject this way of dress. but i do agree with you that girls need to be careful at what they wear. esp if they're chrisians, bcuz the world looks at us differently, and if we make a mistake, the world thinks that all christians are bad or stupid. but i think that it's ok to express yourself through what you wear, just as long as it's not raunchy or anything. just make sure that ppl are looking at you in a way that says that ur pure and saving yourself. i think thats whats important when a christian girl dresses up to go to church. something that expresses who you are, but gets the right kind of attention. im a teenager and i don't like it when ppl look at me the wrong way, even when it's not bcuz of the way i dress. i want people to think that im different in a good kind of way.

Your not weird. I try to dress modestly, but it's hard in this world to find clothes that are modest. And in my opinion, it's more than being modest in church. We also have to be modest wherever we go. Cause there will always be people looking at us and if we only are modest in church, it shows the world that we have a double standard. Sorry if I offended anyone by what I said. It's just my opinion. Sarah.

i agree, from personal experience, when i dress modestly (which now i try to all the time) you get more comments from everybody, even the guys. plus, (well, this more applies to peeps my age), parents just tend to like you more cuz you keep yourself covered. so i don't think you're weird at all. keep strong with your convictions on this, they are truely true.:)

Thank all of you for the encouragement. But it's not only the people who wear these things walking down the street, it's also all of these commercials (victoria's secret) and bilboards (ideal image) and magazines. I was walking through the grocery store toay and it showed a woman with her breast completely out, the only reason it was "socially acceptable" was because the baby's mouth was covering the tip of it. I brought it up with the store manager and he said, "it's a mothering magazine". Okay, children and men go in there. I don't think it's right for even secular places to have stuff like hat displayed because you never know who you will offend. I am really close to not shopping there for a while with my husband, at least until themiddle of august. I'm so tired of praying things out of my heart. AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH?!? I was passing there yesterday and I saw an ad of a man with his pants pulled down almost to his privates with no shirt on. The ad didn't show the pants and he wasn' wearing a shirt. I had to look away and pray it out of my heart. It brough to mind thoughts that didn't have to be there. Shouldn't we be doing something about the desensitization of America?! Abortions are legal, modesty practically doesn't exist in women and men (even in the church), and some states are legalizing gay marriage. What should be done to protect the nation that our children will be raised in?

i think this world is just plain going crazy.there is so much negativity out there and the secular society thinks that's just perfectly fine. i know what you mean about abercrombie...i won't even shop there. and they have some really cute clothes!!!!it's just all there ads are almost condoning porn and some of the sayings on there screen tees are disgustining.and i see people at school wearing thoses shirts everyday and it baffels me as to why they can wear that....why don't we just walk around in boxers and muscle tees...it's pretty much sending the same message! i am personally scared for myself and my younger sisters, this world that we are growing up in is just getting crazier and crazier!it's pretty bad when we are sitting down lunch and the tv is on in the other room, and i have to be the one to get up and turn it off...almost daily....because there is profanity and other stuff that i don't want to hear...and definatly don't want my sisters to hear.and a lot of the time my dad and stepmom just sit there and don't care (they're not christian). they have been numbed from society.although i do give them credit for turning things off when they get sexual and also they will turn off stuff if my two youngest sister who are both under 10 are in the same room, but with me they are fine with me watching this crud. even if i'm 15 i don't think i should being seeing this stuff...and i also give them credit for respecting my opionion by either changing the channel or watching it in another room, and don't give me wrong,my dad has raised me with these moral values.it's just now is society it's okay for 15 year olds to see this.but on the other hand my mom is awesome and i think she sensors more than any one else i know.ok,sorry, got a little off there.but my point being...it's scary!i hate to see what the world will be like in seven years when my two youngest sisters are teenagers....

i know what you mean, it's so hard to find a christian in my school, and when i do find one, they look like they shouldn't even be calling themselves one, they curse left and right, dress in profanity...it's just gross. the only ones who care about God like i do are my two friends..ONLY TWO! some days i don't even want to go to school anymore, because i get so frustrated when ppl critisize me. but hey, no one said it was gunna b easy, God is never far away. God bless :)

I completely agree too. I go to a Christian high school and even with the dress code, I end up seeing a lot that I would rather not. And just today I was out looking for a dress to wear to Homecoming, and I didn't have trouble finding long enough skirts, but the tops all had really low necks. It's quite annoying. I agree with StrawberrySwitchblade, too, though I don't see that as often as girls dressing indecently.
