My horse

Recently, I grew very very attached to a horse I was training. He was a very sweet gelding and would do anything for me. He would behave perfectly while I was riding him, then someone else got on him and he was a little naughty. Well, even more recently, I left the barn I was riding at. And my horse (his name is Silver) was sold to a city across the state. I know I will probably never see him again but that horse meant the world to me. I have prayed and prayed and prayed more about it but God didn't give me a direct answer. But then he did. I think. At my new barn there is another horse named Brucie (she is a girl, I know weird name). She looks exactly like Silver and has his attitude, but she is a little more particular. Brucie is great, but she is no where near as amazing as Silver. I miss him so much and can't get him off my mind. Brucie is not the type of horse to do anything you want, like Silver, but she is a very pretty horse and anyone looks great when you are riding her. She likes me but I want my old horse back. Now I'm praying that I will see him again one day but I don't know if that will happen or not. I really don't want to replace Silver, but I'm feeling like I need another bond like the one I had with him.

I understand the bond between horse and rider. I know you miss Silver, but you now have Brucie and she will be able to tell if you are putting everything into her. You can't pine for Silver and still expect Brucie to behave to her full potential. That's my bit of horse-psychology--I'm pretty sure they're perceptive enough to pick up on negative emotion.

I know how you feel. I lost my horse. Just got really really old. Fell down one day, and my dad had no choice but to put him down.
