hey guys, i just wrote an editorial for english about the whole pledge of allegiance deal and the debate about whether or not saying "under God" is constitutional... i thought it was an interesting topic and figured i'd start a thread in here asking what everyone thought about it... i have a lot to say about it, but i'll let someone else go first and i'll just add on later... so do you think it's fair to non-christians to say "under God" in the pledge of allegiance in schools????

Sine that is how and why this whole country was founded I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. If they want to complain about something as simple as that what's to keep people from saying they have problems with people praying in front of them or seeing religious articles posted in the media. I personally believe that because this country was founded on these morals we don't need to change them to convenience someone else. If someone arrested for breaking the law says it's inconvienent for him to be thrown in prison will we change that to convenience him. I believe those words are some of the most important in the whole pledge. To remove them would be wrong and horrible. Out, Sting.

To me I think that if you don't want to say One Nation Under God than you don't have to say that part, or even better yet, than you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegience. I know when I was in school, they had the kids stand, but if they didn't want to say the Pledge than they didn't. To me I think that i's everyone's personal own appinion. No one should have to pressure someone to say the Pledge, if they don't want to. I think that if you don't want your child to say the pledge than just don't let them say it....instead let the class say and it. Don't make a big deal out of it and make it a law where you can't say the Pledge anymore. If you think about it, what do they want us to say, One nation under buttah, or one nation under someone else. When only god made this earth not any other man, besides God. I went to a school one time where they didn't say the pledge and it made my mom so mad,and she asked the principal why we didn't say it and they trid to say, it cause it's a state law theat we can't say it, when that was a down right lie. Cause you would have heard all about it in the news. So thats what I think. Plus I think that if you want to say the pledge than say it, and don' be afraid. Alexandria
