Paranormal Beliefs

Some of you probably already know (most likely from my FB posts about the paranormal show: Ghost Adventures) that I believe in the paranormal. This belief doesn't stem from watching paranormal show; in fact Ghost Adventures is the only show I have taken seriously because of the manner the three investigators conduct their investigations and the evidence they've caught (including three possessions and a physical attack by a demonic spirit), but comes from my own experiences that to this day cannot explain. In a way, this belief integrates into my faith that I believe there isn't just a Heaven and Hell, but also a dimension in between that seperates the living from the dead. A dimension that holds trapped souls and/or spirits who have unfinished business or simply refuse or can't move on. In a nutshell, I believe the adage, "Dead men tell no tales" is a complete crock of a lie. History isn't just words on a page, but alive and walking among us, trying to either tell us their secrets...or keep us from learning them altogether, even going as far as harming us to keep us from the truth. I know that not everybody holds these same beliefs and opinions as I do; that's what makes this community so diverse and interesting. We each have different beliefs and opinions. So let's discuss this. What are your opinions about the afterlife?

You know my beliefs on the paranormal, and some of the experiences I've had with the paranormal... Of course, I knew your beliefs about it long before you started watching Ghost Adventures... :P For those who haven't seen the original documentary, I highly recommend it...

And if you want to watch the show, there are currently re-runs being aired on Travel Channel on Friday and Saturday nights. There will be two new specials aired in February and the new season (I think it'll be the sixth season) will air in March. You can also see clips and full episodes on YouTube. I think we managed a pretty good plug-in for the show, right Cody? Alright, back to the conversation. Any takers on this?

I'd watch Ghost Hunters if I had cable. They're more scientific, realistic, and are skeptical unless they come across something that doesn't fit the criteria. They say that the place could be haunted. It's false and deceptive to say a place is haunted when everything proves that it's not being haunted.. I don't have much faith in a show that falsely deceptive.

GAC is scientific and and very realistic in their investigations. They are willing (and have) to use new equipment and come up with new experiments to validate their findings. My favorite pieces equipments they use are the spirit box, which runs through 13 radio stations in 4 seconds to create "White Noise" that spirits find easy to communicate through and the PX device, which is programmed with phonics and a vocabulary word base that spirits can easily manipulate and use to communicate through. And of course, the ever simple, yet trusty Digital and Real-time Digital Recorders for EVPs. GAC is also well known for throughly investigating their lockdown locations well before actually traveling there. They have investigated the Mizpah Hotel, Preston Castle, Linda Vista Hostpital, Bobby Mackey's Music World (this place actually has a sign that states the property is not liable for any demonic attacks on it's patrons because someone tried to sue them when they were attacked. True story. Zak was also scratched and went under demonic oppression in this place.) and several insane asylums. They were also the first paranormal team to investigate Loretta Lynn's plantation house and an actual Civil War battlefield (can't think of it now, tip of my tongue). While early on, Ghost Hunters was good, later there were rumors they were faking evidence to keep ratings. Ghost Adventures has never done anything like that and even tries to debunk a lot of what they find, such as knocks, bangs, and such.

I know of an Christian lady who's in her 80's. She'll get on someone for the least little infraction of Christian law. I also know a lady who's a dyed in the wool alcoholic. She'd drink a case of beer a day. She got very ill with chirossis of the liver. Now the Christian lady comes along with her "holier than thou" and "I'm telling you the truth" self-righteous attitude. In a nutshell, the Christian lady's intransigence, impossible, and demanding standards made the other woman cry. Yet, this same christian lady watches "Vampire Diaries" !
