Perception

Okay, the reason why I am writing this is because I think a lot of people are blowing things way out of proportion and I wanted to point out something. I think a lot of the problems with todays society isn’t so much the sinning that’s going on as the way people perceive things and then THINK that something wrong is happening. Let me explain. One of my best friends (Mandi) is dealing with a lot of issues right now. Last night when I was at another friends house Mandi called me and she was crying and upset and wanted me to come over and talk with her. So I did. On the way I bought us some breakfast tacos (we have a tradition of buying them at midnight randomly) and her favorite cookies and a rose. I basically wanted her to know that I really cared about her, and that she wasn’t alone. So I get to her house, and me just giving her a hug and letting her know she could lean on me, and praying with her totally cheered her up. Well, today she called me to tell me that her dad asked her if she and I were in a “relationship.” Like, a romantic relationship. Now, there wasn’t anything sinful in what Mandi and I did last night, and to anyone who knew me, or Mandi, knew that me buying little things was just my way of showing I care about her. (Like my friend William was really upset so I bought him a batman toy cause he loves batman) However, her dad just saw me coming over and bringing her a rose and some cookies and thought we were involved. He isn’t a Christian, and he perceived things differently than Mandi and I did. So I guess what I’m basically trying to say is please be careful. Yes, there is a lot of sin in this world, and yes, everyone seems to be crazy these days. However, a lot is blown out of proportion cause people are just assuming things. -Cassi

You speak the truth, girlie! People judge way too much, and there are even christians who judge. Only God judges people, and I stand by that. I know a lot of proverbs that speak out against the tyranny of non-believers. Just ignore their practices but if you can, be a light for those who don't know Jesus. As we progress on and on through these days, we encounter many, many new ways to sin. It is All the more beneficial these days to go to church and pray that God protects us from evil in this transforming world. :)
