i agree with Bethany, if he is leading you farther from God you should break up wiht him. but if you still wanna date him thats ok too. its your life to live.

Whoa gal! Honestly, you know that if a friendship doesn't glorify God then its not one we should have. no that doesn't mean to delete all the people that are negative on our relationship with God.. but in the end don't you want to surround yourself with people that are on fire and aren't going dis on your Love? {God} This guy is probably really sweet and he adored you at one point, and you probably were the only one that really Got him, and maybe vice-versa but apparently the only way you two could work out is if you conform to his wishes which is that you lose the fire, you don't ask him to come to church, and is that really the kind of person you want to be? After him getting that mad.. doesn't he seem a little less attractive. make a list and try to see whats more important having an emo dude that you like in your life, or having a God your totally in love with thats always going to be there for you as #1, it shouldn't be so hard! Don't give up on somebody, or him especially. He may be going through a hard time anyway. But i wouldn't invite him to church right away.
