I was at the hospital today visiting with my pastor, when one of the teenagers came in. His name is Caleb, and is 16. We stood around talking for a little while, then I looked over and said that I needed some caffeine and asked if he wanted to walk to the machine with me. He said yes. On the way back to the room, I stopped him and asked if he wanted to have fun. He asked what kind of fun. I said, "Have you ever walked down the hall of a hospital, knocked on a random door, and went in and asked if people mind if you pray for them?" He said he hadn't. When I asked him if he wanted to, he said yes. We went in about 12 rooms, and all but one let us pray. I turned the corner after we came out of the first room and my mind started going to one room in particular. We went in to find the pastor of a church that our church associates with. I've done it several times, and I always enjoy seeing the joy on people's faces when we tell them what we are doing. And Caleb absolutely loved it. He wants to go back in a few weeks and actually announce it to get a group from the church to go. He's so excited about doing it again.

Ooooh. I like this. This sounds like something I may do this summer. :)

If you do, be sure and do it quietly. Don't make a big scene. If they say they don't want prayer, you have to leave the room and go to another. If you press the issue, they could call security and you would get kicked out of the hospital.
