this is what i do everyday, it seems really hard, but its actually really easy 1. Run 20 times around you backyard(if your backyard is really small then do it 30 times.) 2. Jump rope the alphabet twice (or forget the alphabet and just jump 52 times, i just find it easier with the alphabet) 3. Do 100 jumping jacks (once you start it is way easy to finish. THIS IS IF YOU WANT TO GET STRONG 4.(If you have a weight bench) lift two ten pund weights 20 times ( This is for girls, don't lift to much, or you will end up being buff and gross looking, thats why you lift only 10 pounds, only 20 times.) THIS IS IF YOU WANT TO BECOME REALLY IN SHAPE 5. So much things that we drink are full of sugar, so what I do is ONLY drink water. It is hard to resist the temptataion, but it is worth it. (it's different when I am around friends or something, because then I will enjoy a good smoothie or something with them, but just limit the amounts of soda and stuff you drink while your alone _____________________________________________________________________- these excersizes are really easy to do, in about 2-4 months I lost 8 pounds. They really help, and you only have to do them once a day. I do them RIGHT when I get home from school, to get through with it as fast as possible. I hope this helped.

Don't worry, you're not going to have ripped biceps from lifting, as long as you do it in moderation. It's nice to keep working your arms though, because then you'll have power and strength when you need it... for sports and strenuous activity, or lifting lil kids all day (<--- why I have to keep myself in shape... i'm a human jungle gym).

I'm the exact same way. I'm 5'8 too and I have big thighs and squishy belly. well I'm not huge but I weigh 170. I figure I only need to lose about 8 or 10 pounds to be more healthy. But I have a hard time losing weight. I figure around 8 or 10 pounds because my bro is 5'10" and he weighs 160 and he's a stick...and because I did a BMI thingy once and it said I need to lose about 8 or 10 pounds to be my healthy weight...but doesn't 160 sound really big? I don't want to be a stick but I want to be more healthy...because I read if you have fat around your thighs and stomach you have it on your heart...and I don't want it on my heart. B)

One thing great for ab workouts is the "Ab Lounge". Normally I am highly skeptical about things advertised on TV like that, but this thing really works. It's also incredibly easy to use and doesn't hurt your neck or back (I had the same problem with crunches and sit ups - I can't keep the strain off my neck). I haven't got a clue how much they cost, because I was just using my sister and brother-in-law's. It might be worth it though.

First off (To the above) don't be skeptical about heavy bones cuz I know that my sibs and I have them and always will unfortunately. For example my sister has a friend at church and they both have nice bodies for 5&6 year olds.;) Anyways the other little girl is about ten pounds lighter than my sis. And they look almost exactly the same and the other little girl has more chunk in certain areas! (Btw I'm not trying to offend or judge their body images. This is just something I notice.) Also for cool workouts for like the torso area... Try upright crunches! It's really not that hard and it definitely doesn't strain your neck and back which is what I hate! Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, tuck in your stomach and bring your pelvis forward. Hold for a sec and release. Repeat several times and if you'd like pump your arms at the same time. To work your obliques move you arms to the side in the form of a "W" like a fighting stance. Pull your you hip straight up not your leg and you've just achieved a side crunch! *All of the above borrowed from the Turbo Jam workout! Really fun.*
