What I don\'t get...

The latest thread that caused all the controversy... "Seriously guys?" It makes me want to respond by saying, "Seriously?" I mean, why was I even brought up in the conversation to begin with, ...Ben... That's when it really started to go downhill. I then make a few statements with a little bit of why I feel the way I do and then run off to see about my baby nephew and take him to the ER. I get back and make a few comments and go to bed and then go to work. I get home to find four pages of people who I consider to be friends insulting me. Even at one point calling me a hypocrite for praising God for protecting my nephew. That's just low. There's no way I can address everything that was said while I was gone. Why am I writing this? I guess to let you guys know why you might not see me for a while. Peace out. Don't tread on me while I'm gone.

I'm guessing you mean this quote:
--this does not actually add to the conversation. Meanwhile, Dante's post before it did a phenomenal job of calling out Kenneth's hypocrisy in his attitude towards Muslims.
I stand by that statement. You have a history of making statements about Muslims as a whole that are inconsistent with the teaching to love our enemies and do go to those who persecute us. And the topic of Christians loving with strings attached is a huge deal to me, as I feel that most Christians don't know how to love without strings attached and it frustrates me. I think we were getting somewhere with that thread before it got locked; I personally did not expect you to say you didn't hate Muslims, because the impression that I got from your other posts is that you do have a prejudice against Muslims. It was encouraging to see you say otherwise, and it made me think this entire argument was over a misunderstanding, where you thought you were arguing against radicals' manipulation of Islam and we thought you were saying a true Muslim is automatically violent. Of course, none of us are immune to hypocrisy and I know I can be a hypocrite - probably more often than not. And knowing that, I personally would rather be called out on it and ask that you do call me out rather than let me continue to be unaware of it. Alternatively, the only other quote I can see being taken as insulting is this one: serfofChrist92 wrote:
Brandon wrote:
You know what else bothers me? Kenneth is running around being an ignorant, hateful bigot in one thread while simultaneously making threads about worship and love and such inspirational stories, and is he being told to stop? Nope.
You want us to chastise Kenneth for making a thread thanking God his relative is okay after an accident? I mean sure, there's leaving your offering at the altar and making things right with a brother and not being a hypocrite but it's difficult and probably not even our place to judge the heart of someone that I've never even met in person and don't really even know well at all.
I'm sorry if you were insulted by this; I could have worded that better but my intent was to say that even if we were to make an argument using those verses, it's not our place to judge someone over the internet. I think the timing was just bad on that (your praise thread in the middle of a tense argument), and I apologize for not being more sensitive. My posts of late have generally been devoid of emotion, and I've consequently made posts that are colder and less considerate than I should like.

No one has ever learned a thing from running away from earnest criticism. And who would prefer to remain in a state of hypocrisy rather than hear such an accusation? Dante
