I'm on facebook this morning, and I notice one of my friends (who posted yesterday about her pre-labor contractions) is now posting that the doctor just broke her water. You're in labor, and you're on your BLACKBERRY?! Shouldn't you know, be focusing on GIVING BIRTH?! Technology fail.

Dude.. my friend did the same thing. Except she wanted to call me and chat on the phone. Instead of having her family call us, I got a call that morning from her saying "Heeyy, it's someone's birthday today. Should be here any time now. How are you?"

How long before they post, "The head is coming! THE PAIN! SHOOT ME NOW! WHY DID I LET HIM GET ME PREGNANT?!" :P

I heard of people updating their Facebook status at the alter saying "I do."

Makes me want to stab a smartphone. Get a nice big steak knife and stab a smartphone. I think it'd make a nice youtube video. XD

The thing that annoys me is the way Facebook has become such a pulpit for the would-be pious. It's become such an annoying medium for people to taut themselves up as earnest people of faith amidst the dozens and hundreds of their friends and acquaintances without the cumbersome burden of actually being an earnest person of faith. I cant tell you how many annoying feeds I see every day exhorting a "praise Jesus" message by the same people who have no interest in actually living like him. Sometimes I really do wonder if you're not all in on some widespread and unspoken understanding that it is all for show, and the idea of actually living or acting like Christ is just a laughable notion. Hey you guys, I'M on Facebook! :ohmy: My Civil War friends got me onto it, then found out that my Christian friends from church are on it. As for a "conspiracy", Dante it's all in your mind, boy! :P I also found some former high school friends. It's nice just to chat with everyone on my list every now and then (via news feed or chat itself). mike always tells me about the CW event I go to every now and then. it's a cool way to get in touch with friends.

Most of us are on facebook. ;)
