Friend help

OK, so one of my friends stopped going to my school this year, and we kind of lost track. Last night her father died of a heart attack. I really really REALLY want to be there for her, but I have no idea how. I've heard she's totally gone numb, and doesn't want to talk to anyone but her boyfriend. She was such an amazing girl, and I don't want her to withdraw from the world. I am going to the visitation tomorrow, but I don't know what to say. I know words can't do anything at a time like this, but I can't just not say anything. I sort of knew her father, but not too well, so I can't bring up an old memory or anything like that... help please?:(

You don't have to say anything, it's better if you don't. Just weasle your way through the crowd to find her and hug her without saying anything. Let her talk if she wants to, but if not, just be close to her. No words are going to help her, just love. And honestly, love isn't expressed through words very easily.

I agree with Chelsea, when words fail all you can do is be there for her. Show her through your actions that you care and are therefor her.

 Hugs are good. I'm so sorry about your friend, but really. A nice, warm embrace from a friend shows that you truly care. =)
