Is Hell Eternal?

For the purpose of polling: Is hell eternal? Yes/no, and why? Dante

I'm not convinced that most translations of "forever" in the Bible are accurate. But death and hades are cast into the lake of fire in Revelation..so sidestepping the issue of whether or not God is successful in redeeming all of creation, hell (or hades) is temporary.

Yes, hell's eternal. there has to be a place where evil resides just as there has to be a place where good resides (heaven). As for this post, wouldn't it better in the debate section?

Technically speaking, wouldn't you two talking about this post being in the debate section be a debate? That is just being a troll though. Back to Dante's post though. I am not quite sure. Going back to Confederates response, yes there has to be a place where evil can reside, but just because Hell is not eternal doesn't mean that it doesn't. I believe what you are thinking is that Hell should all together end, but what I am getting at is, a person doesn't have to STAY in Hell. I hope that made sense. It sure did for me -William

It reminds me of the WASL. Or HSPE, as it is now known. 2+4 = 6. Now explain your reasoning for your answer. But yes, I believe Hell is eternal. Simply because that's what I was raised to believe, and because I've never given it thought until you asked. :P Although I do like the idea of Purgatory, but there's no Biblical support for as far as I'm aware.
Consume a cookie. Is the cookie still there?
Depends on how you define a cookie. Is a cookie defined by the integral nature of its atomic arrangement or can included be merely the raw particles? If the latter then it technically will exist for as long as the universe does. ;)
But yes, I believe Hell is eternal. Don't you have your own individual opinion? Can't you form your own conclusions? I don't say this to be rude, but just because it is perhaps the most incredibly sad thing to hear someone say that they believe something because "that's what they were raised to believe." It's just such a waste of a mind to now draw one's own conclusions and to hold beliefs without any self-consideration. Dante
