Needing Some Advice....

I am not quite sure on how to bring about this subject, so I will get right to point. I'm not so good with the girls. What doesn't help is my looks. But, I do have a crush on a girl, and.... I just need some encouragement and advice, you know? ...We both, Christina and I, have Honors Wrld Hist. and Honors Lit. together. I have become good friends with both Christina, and her best friend Avalon. I feel so pathetic right now...I mean, I am too scared to tell her how I feel, in fear of rejection. So please, any advice? God Bless You, I give you my thanks, -William "Well if you just close your eyes, and just imagine everythings alright. When I was younger I used to pray and give any crush-type emotions to God and ask if I was meant to act on them, that He'd give them back. Consequently the current relationship I'm in is the only one I've been in. So I can't say I'm an expert on asking girls out. I've always thought that being friends, even close friends, is better than being in a relationship for at least the lower 2/3 of the teen years. There's a lot less stress and distractions from school that way, and you also get to know someone better when you're not constantly trying to impress each other. But all of that stuff aside, you like this girl. Your choice is to talk about it with her, give it a few years and then reevaluate the situation, or to ignore the emotions altogether. In either of the first two options, you're going to have to push through fear of rejection. Obviously if you're friends with this girl, she thinks you're pretty cool, even if merely on a platonic level. Which probably means you are pretty cool (I mean, you're in honors classes which means you're way above 75% of the US population). All of that comes down to this single point: whether or not a girl rejects you does not define who you are. So in the worst case scenario, if the feelings aren't mutual, then maybe things are a little awkward. But you realize from the experience that talking to girls might not be as bad as you thought. And if you keep the perspective that a rejection does not equate to an attack on your confidence, ideally the rejection will have no impact on you. I'd encourage you not to let fear dictate your decision. If you have no problems with being in a relationship at this age in your life, then talk to her and be open with your feelings. If you decide you don't want to be in a relationship at this time, then don't talk to her -- but don't choose not to talk merely because of fear.

There is no better way of putting that. I think I have to really think it over though. It is just so....confusing... Especially for someone that doesn't get the girls that easily. Thanks(: -William

Relationships are drama and a hassle. If you're still in high school you should just focus on graduating and doing something with your life after you graduate. In the immortal words of Dr. Dre: Chicks ain't nada but tricks and dollars. Dante
