No.1: You have some cheese in front of you. It can only be separated or cut by the knife you have. What is the fewest number of slices you can take to get 8 pieces of cheese? DONT READ FURTHER IF YOU DONT WANT HINTS Make sure to think three-dimensionally. Think outside the box, but don't over-think what the riddle asks for. There are two correct answers, depending on how you interpret this one, which I'll post later.

The riddle does not specify the size or shape of the cheese, but it is considered in one piece/uncut before your slices. You can do it in less than 4 slices, though. Make sure to specify how you would do _ slices (explain your answer)

3 First cut, place cheese on top of cheese Second cut, now you have 4... Stack them... Third cut, now you have 8

It is possible to do it in 3, but you can't add more cheese to do so. You only have the cheese you started with and the knife. Now, if you're saying to cut the cheese in half and stack it, that would be a permissible move.

That's what I was saying... If you're adding new cheese, it would make more than 8 After the second cut, you would have 5 instead of 4...

If you could make >= 8 slices, you could do it with one slice. If you can only make 8 slices, you'd at least need 2.

im gonna say zero. it doesnt really say that its a block of cheese. it just says 'some cheese' and 'can be SEPARATED....using a knife." doesnt say you have to slice it

No, you have to "slice" it with the knife, thus separating it. I didn't say cut because that might limit the way people think to use the knife. Btw, the 3 slice is correct. But you can also do it in 1. HINT: if it's not a *block* of cheese.

Correct, they were goldfish (or otherwise pet fish whose fishbowl fell.) RIDDLE NUMBER THREE: Imagine you are locked in a room with no doors, windows, or other conventional way out. How do you escape the room? RIDDLE NUMBER FOUR: There are 2 brothers who are twins and born on the same day. One day a man asks them their age. He hears one say, "I am 20" and the other say, "I am 22". Neither is lying. How is this possible?
