how? I've been stumbling all over this one a lot lately...you meet someone that has to know what God has done for them! how crazy and unimportant those "issues" they're having really are...so how do you go about telling them? I would think you'd befriend them...instead of shoving everything down there throats, but what do you all think?

A great way to share your faith with others (besides living a good Christian life of course) would be to use Biblical evangelism, which is taught in "The Way of the Master" video series (it's a evangelistic video series that has Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort in it). If you watch the video closely, you will see that Jesus used Biblical evangelism to reach people for His kingdom, not any other evangelistic method (the series incorporates how Jesus evangelized in it). You definately don't want to parade around saying "Jesus loves you" or making it sound like if the person accepts Christ they'll forever be happy or something like that. That's not saying that you can't say "Jesus loves you," it's just that Biblical evangelism means taking an approach through the Ten Commandments, in other words show the person that they are truely a sinner and need God's forgiveness or they're not going to Heaven. Try these steps: 1. Do the Good Person test (ask someone if they think they are a good person or not, and if they say yes, then take them through a few Commandments and eventually most will admit they have sinned) 2. Ask them if they know what to do now that they've admitted they're a sinner (if they say no, ask them if they know what Jesus did for them) 3. Share the Gospel and explain to them why they need forgiveness of sins 4. Share with them how to repent of sins and (if they want to and are ready) pray the prayer to recieve Christ with them. I hope you find it helpful! Visit www.wayofthemaster.com for more info. horsechic1990 P.S. Look up these verses for help witnessing: Exodus 20:1-17 (the Ten Commandments) Psalm 51 (an example of prayer of repentence) Isaiah 53:5-6 (talks about salvation) Ezekiel 18:4 (talks about consequences of sin) Matthew 5:27-28 (talks about adultery) Matthew 12:36 (talks about the Day of Judgement) Luke 13:3 (talks about importance of repentence) Luke 16:15 (talks about living for God vs. living for men) John 3:16 (talks about eternal life/salvation) John 3:18 (talks about not believing in Christ) John 3:36 (talks about eternal life vs. condemnation) John 14:21 (talks about effects of keeping God's law) Acts 4:12 (talks about how only God saves!) Acts 17:30-31 (talks about repentence/Day of Judgement) Romans 2:5-6 (talks about effects of an unrepented heart) 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (talks about offenses unworthy of Heaven) Colossians 1:20-22 (presents the Gospel in a nutshell!) 1 John 1:9-10 (talks about repentence)

> In any case they should first see that there is a difference in our lifes which acts as a witness to them. This is a key element.. not just to witnessing, it's a key element to a lot of different things. They should see a difference in the way we act, and they should also see a difference in our demeanor. This verse isn't usually applied to this sort of thing, maybe it's a stretch, but.. "Now when you fast, don 't go around looking miserable, like the hypocrites. They make sour faces, so that people will know they are fasting. Yes, I tell you, they have their reward already! But you, when you fast, wash your face and groom yourself, so that no one will know you are fasting - except your Father, who is with you in secret." Matthew 6 I'm reading between the lines here, because fasting is a bit of a special circumstance.. But I take that to mean that regardless of what we're going through, or our comfort level, we should be positive and confident and happy, and basically in the state of mind and heart that He would want us in. This helps in witnessing and in making friends (which can be very similar). People are naturally attracted to those who are happy, or tend to make others smile. And when they come closer to find out how we can be cheery in bad circumstances (assuming it is genuine), and find out that we're happy simply because we have no need to worry for any little thing.. that our whole lives and our whole being, we trust to the L-rd, so we can just relax and live... Wow, what a great testimony that is, even without being a good speaker. *edit* And one very important thing to remember IS not to cram it down their throat. Don't let yourself fall into the trap of thinking their salvation is up to you. G-d's Word doesn't "need" our help. He will fulfill His will one way or another, and His ways are far beyond our comprehension. Do what you can, and trust the matter, along with all others, to the L-rd.
