Ok so this guy who's a sophmore asked me out last monday and i said yes with a ton of doubts.He's the first guy i have ever "dated". i has only been a week, but We held hands today and i realized i am too young to deal with the emotional and physical aspects of a relationship. I know i need to end it, but what should i say?

Exactly what you just told us. Be honest with him and tell him that you just aren't sure that you're ready to date anyone right now. Tell him that, although initially you may have thought you could, you've found that you just aren't comfortable with the whole thing. If he tries to tell you otherwise that you'll "get over it in a little while" then tell him you don't want to get over anything, you want to be ready when YOU are ready. Not when someone else thinks you should be. Let him know that you do think that it's too early for you. If he wants to know anything else, let him know that you know it'll only end in pain awkwardness for the both of you.

It wasn't awful, I guess. I just wish I could take it back. I thought I was one of the smart girls. One of the ones who always said she wouldn't date, that the whole thing was stupid. When put in the position myself, I cracked. I let a boy define who I was, and let him determine how much I was worth. Not a good idea, for the record. But I told him I just wanted to be friends a while back, in April. It is just sad, because Kyle was my best friend, and still, we are on weird terms. We barely speak anymore.

awww im sorry you can't expect to find the right guy on your first try. i believe that the only reason to date is to find the person you want to marry and at my age we're not ready to marry and we can do so much more with our time than worry about who's dating who. i just got so carried away with the who's dating who that i told him yes when i really didn't want a relationship and after i realized that i decided i should build my relationship with god before i try to start a relationship with a guy i don't really care for. and this experience has made me a stronger christian:)
