XD And my brother is a theology major, and he loves to talk about the Hebrew translation. Especially about vineyards. Heehee. Bewbs. And Dante, you are muy inteligente. End of discussion. :3

Thank you, various MPers, though I feel I should let you know that I am in fact well aware of my own awesomeness, despite the dissenting opinions that exist. ;) As an afterthought, I wanted to also add that I've seen no compelling evidence that this campaign is causing any sort of real, tangible harm. All the news articles I've read regarding schools that have banned the bracelets omit any mentioning of the bracelets as having actually caused actual learning disruptions in classrooms, ergo implying that it was merely the "poor taste" which has led to their banning at certain schools. The point then being this; If there's no evidence that the bracelets are causing real harm, then what is the fuss about? If this is what it takes to raise advocacy for Breast Cancer research then so be it. Really, who cares if its tacky when the pros so obviously outweigh these intangible cons? Does anyone really think that the world will be detrimentally worse for wear just because kids are wearing wristbands with a word that some people can't disassociate with female sexuality? Come on people, what is this, the third grade? Do we need to play the sex ed video again? Much ado about nothing.

I think they're great! They're funny and they raise money for breast cancer. :woohoo: Alright, maybe it's not something to give out to children or wear around them anything...it's certainly a PG-13 kind of accessory. You wouldn't want kids running around yelling about b**bies obnoxiously, offending little old ladies and whatnot. But for those who are old enough and mature enough to handle it, these bracelets are a great idea. They appeal to people's sense of humor, and that really sells, so it raises a ton of money for the cause. Personally, being 18 and having what I believe to be a good sense of humor, I would love to buy a few of these in multiple colors to both show my support and be fashionable (every single girl at my all-girls high school wore them, no kidding). If it offends you, don't buy it I guess, and buy some breast cancer awareness merch that doesn't offend you. ;)

I just feel like virtually no slang terms for breasts properly convey their majesty. The word "breasts" sounds sophisticated and sort of elegant. "Boobies" sounds dumb. It's a child's word. And it's probably the best breast slang. Hehe... best breast...

BrotherReed wrote:
"Boobies" sounds dumb.
I think it's very telling that the word "boob" means "fool". I actually agree with you about using slang terms...which is weird, because I've never heard anybody else express those sentiments. I feel like most slang terms are somewhat insulting to the female gender as a whole for a variety of reasons. On that note, I would caution users to be wary of that fine line between humor, a biblical level of appreciation for the body, and MyPraize appropriateness as this thread continues.

Personally, I prefer the term breasts... It has a nice woody sound... Certain terms are just too tinny...

Huh. You know, in an interview with Seventeen Magazine, Chuck from the band Simple Plan addressed a rumor that the band was gay by proclaiming his love for boobies. :P I lol'd.
