Because of recent events to me and others, I feel like this song is being laid on my heart. “When Everything Falls”-Haste the Day I can see it coming on the horizon Sky turning black, it’s raining down Can’t move my feet, cannot be shaken Not moving, I’m standing strong I’m standing so firm I can’t be moved I’m standing so firm I can’t be moved I will stand I will stand When everything falls away I will fight this war forever Or until I die I will stand I will stand When everyone falls away I will fight this war forever Or until I die All these things coming against me I have the choice to fall or fight I cannot be moved You gave me the strength Help me fight, help me fight Life can be rough. It can be tough. Things come at us that cause us to stumble, fall. Things happen to us that make us question why we should go on. The devil tries to make us feel like everything is hopeless. Why should I stand when it’s probably just going to get worse? This is the lie that the devil comes. We can see it “coming on the horizon.” The “sky’s turning black.” Our first reaction is to just run away. When faced with “the choice to fall or fight,” we want to turn our backs and run. This is simple human nature, to just give up. Isaiah 43:2; When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Read that verse carefully. We will go through trials. We will walk through the fires and the waters. Those are our torments in life. But we have hope. God is with us. He will always be with us, no matter what we go through. Even when we don’t understand, even when we don’t see him, even when we want to give up, He will be there with us. He will not allow the devil to overtake us. He will not allow the fires to burn us to a crisp. We are His children, and He will protect us, no matter the force that comes against us. Sure, we may think we get burned, but God’s plan is greater than what we can see. “He will never leave us or forsake us.” We are His. God gave us the strength when He died on the cross for us. He gave us the strength to be able to say with absolute certainty that despite the trials in life I “can’t be moved, cannot be shaken. Not moving, I’m standing strong.” Christ is our solid rock. When the waters rise up, we can stand firm and the waters will not touch us, even while the storm rages all around us. I believe that this song is a call to arms. There are a lot of people that will just give up when trials come. We can’t be one of those people. Look at yourself, can you say with absolute certainty with God on your side, “I will stand. I will stand when everything falls away. I will fight this war forever, or until I die.” This is not something we can do on our own, but with God on our side, we can. “If God is for us, then who can be against us?” I want to be able to say that to God with absolute certainty. Lord, help me to be able to stand, even when everything falls. Help me to fight this war against the devil for as long as I live.

I have heard this song before in my art class! I would always have part of it stuck in my head for a while after hearing this one. Now that I read the lyrics, it's all coming back to me.
