Do you ever feel this way...tell us about it I love patchouli…and there are days that I wake up to be thinking shower or patchouli…and most of those days patchouli wins…please don’t think that I am this big, smelly and dirty guy that NEVER showers…but man I hate showers and there are better things to do with my time…I feel that I might of fit in with the dirty hippies of the 60’s…but one thing that I do love about showers is the feel of clean underwear being put on my clean body…now that feeling makes taking a shower worth it… OK…OK…that is enough of me talking about me showering and being clean or dirty…But my spiritual life is a lot like my shower habits…I find myself waking up and thinking devotions and prayer or just a quick ya God…and most days the ya God wins…I don’t know why I choose not to spend five or ten minutes focusing on God…but I feel like I have better things to do with my time…I must admit I don’t fit into the family of God…but it has to do with my lack…It is like when you leave for college (not talking about a college an hour away but in a different time zone) and at Thanksgiving break when you are at home ever thing has change all your friend and family are different…there this strange quite and uneasiness of time try to get back to where you where before you left…this is how I feel about me and God…you see there has been time that “God has been closer then my skin” and then there are time that He is farther then the east is from the west…their only one to blame for this…and dammit I am an adult and I have to put it on that one person and only that one person…and it is me…I am where I am at because I don’t know who to manage my time (or I don’t want to)…I need to stop letting the little things take my focus away… And when waking up and spend time with God and His word it is like putting on that clean underwear after taking a shower…it will be worth it…I let you all know how things will be going as time goes by…

Ok, first of all you do fit in with the family of God. We all have days where we just brush God off to the side. He loves us sooooooo much though that He will wait patiently for us to come to Him. And, about feeling close to God at times and far at others, that is soooo normal. But it does say in the Bible that if we draw close to God he will draw close to us. I know that He is sometimes completely silent and it is sooooo frustrating but the Bible also says that He will never leave us or forsake us. Just hang in there. I know exactly how you feel. I'm in the exact same spot. Maybe before you go to bed give God 5 minutes, to start with, and tell Him how your day was. he wants to hear from you and He love you! Hope it helped!
