Five Most Beautiful/Handsome People

I'm assuming this list would vary depending on the giver's gender, but I thought it'd be interesting to see everyone's list of the most attractive people to ever grace the silver screen...and it should be their honest list. I'm sure there are women on my list that others will disagree with. Regardless, I think it'd be interesting (and yes, it's more or less entirely superficial). And...go! 5. Anna Torv This Australian actress is best known for her current role as FBI agent Olivia Dunham in J. J. Abrams' TV series 'Fringe'. 4. Gillian Anderson This actress is best known for her role as FBI agent Dana Scully in The X-Files nine season TV show, as well the movies. 3. Kate Winslet It's hard to say what this British actress is best known for (kidding! definitely Titanic). She's played opposite the former heart throb that is Leonardo DiCaprio in the record breaking 'Titanic', opposite Johnny Depp in 'Finding Neverland', and Jim Carrey in 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'. She has a rather unique beauty that is decidedly European. I posted the second picture from 'Eternal Sunshine' to demonstrate that she can maintain her natural beauty in even such an odd character. 2. Danielle Fishel Best known for her role as Topanga Lawrence in the TV show 'Boy Meets World'. This is a pick that's probably unique to me, as she was my first childhood celebrity crush (actually, the only one I ever had). 1. Audrey Hepburn This choice wasn't difficult at all for me. I've long contended that she is the most gorgeous woman to ever grace the silver screen. Her elegance, yet humbleness and ready smile are simply too rare. Ever actor she worked with didn't have a single bad thing to say about her. Heck, Cary Grant said working with her was all he wanted for Christmas. Her perfect face matches her lithe body almost too well. Fortunately, 'too well' works for her. She's definitely, without a doubt, easily my top pick.

I love this thread and I love your pics. Hepburn is a goddess, and Gillian Anderson... it's Scully, what can you do? Interesting that you have women from both The X-Files and Fringe, as those are two shows that I enjoy and are similar thematically. I want to make a list but I'm not sure how to approach it. Should I go with personal favorites? Those are often heavily influenced by whether or not I like the roles they've been in - but it'll also be a good indicator of my taste (and probably include lots of redheads) Honestly I don't think 5 is enough but if you insist, I'll try.

Honestly, all of my picks are at least partly influenced by their roles. I'm not sure that it's possible to have it otherwise if it's personal favorites. The point of making it five is to make it tricky. :P Top Ten and Top Twenty, etc, always seem to make me lazy with my choices. I will say that number five was a tossup between Anna Torv and Zooey Deschanel...but in the end it was probably my love for Torv's character on Fringe that won out. If it's super difficult, it's fine to do two people for one number if you really can't decide (so a list could have like seven different people even though there only five slots). I'm really intrigued to see a few peoples' lists (and you're one of them). :P

Okay, just so you're aware, this list started out with almost 30 names. That's a lot of whittling to get down to 5. Here goes nuttin'. 5. Christina Hendricks Christina Hendricks may be best known as the buxom redhead on Mad Men; but she caught my attention as Saffron on Firefly, where she would catch the attention of any red-blooded male. She just oozes allure, at once sophisticated and sultry, alternating innocent and savage. 4. Bryce Dallas Howard Forget A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Backdraft; Bryce is the best thing Ron Howard ever made. Sensitive and strong as Ivy in The Village, Bryce has gone on to break hearts as Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man 3 and also a host of lesser-known roles. Like Hendricks, she has angular features but with a soft edge, and that natural red hair and freckles. 3. Gillian Anderson Trot out the redheads, cause Reed loves 'em. Especially, I love Special Agent Dana Scully, the smart and skeptical foil to the X-Files' resident believer and alien enthusiast Fox Mulder. Anderson is a great actress and every time she got to shine during the show it made for a memorable episode. She hasn't done much else that's notable, but she spent nine seasons making a big impression on me. 2. Emily Mortimer Like Nathan, my first big celebrity crush comes in at number 2. Most people probably wouldn't recognize Mortimer's name and wouldn't pick her out of a lineup. For me, though, her adorable character across from Bruce Willis in Disney's The Kid put her on my map. She's an extremely cute brunette with big doe eyes and a soft voice, with a wonderful British accent to boot. She's more graceful than showy - maybe not "hot" in the same way as someone like Scarlett Johannson, but when the two starred together in Woody Allen's Match Point, it wasn't Scarlett I was looking out for. 1. Monica Bellucci While the other picks were hard, this one isn't. Bellucci is a flawless beauty. Flowing dark hair, shapely eyes, full lips, curves in all the right places. As she's aged (she's over 40 now) she's matured but remained gorgeous. If I were a sculptor who could choose any model to make out of marble or stone, it would be her. If there's a more beautiful woman somewhere on this planet, I for one have never seen her.

(I'm terrible with ranking, so I'm just gonna stick five out there in no particular order) Cillian Murphy Cillian Murphy is probably best known at the moment in supporting roles as Fisher in Inception and the Scarecrow in Nolan's Batman movies, although he's filled a wide number of roles and is, imo, quite underrated. He has a bit of an androgynous look to him (he's played a transvestite, and he makes a prettier lady than me, that's for sure), and with those eyes and facial structure it's impossible for me not to put him on my list. And a wonderful Irish accent sure doesn't hurt. Michael Palin Best known as a member of Monty Python. Also makes delightful travel documentaries. Don't judge me; there's a reason why Palin was known as the cute Python :P Cate Blanchett Probably best known for her role as Queen Elizabeth I in Elizabeth: The Golden Age or as Galadriel in LotR She's got a unique beauty to her, very striking. I love her cheekbones. Some people think she looks too severe, or that her nose is too big, but I think it suits her. When I think of beautiful actresses, she's always first on my list (Audrey Hepburn follows shortly after) Jimmy Stewart Best known as George Bailey in It's A Wonderful Life. How could any girl not fall in love with a man who would lasso the moon for them? He's got a wholesome American look to him, with all that Old Hollywood style to boot. Lee Pace Probably best known for his starring role in the tv series Pushing Daisies. I'm a sucker for the green eye brown hair combo he has going on, not gonna lie. And also, as a friend pointed out, he's a bit like a better looking David Tennant :P

I give in. In no particular order... Kristen Bell - Veronica Mars, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Heroes Lauren Bacall - The Big Sleep, Key Largo, The Shootist Rashida Jones - The Social Network, The Office, Brief Interviews with Hideous Men Anna Kendrick - Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Up in the Air, Twilight (I know, I know) Ally Sheedy - The Breakfast Club, The Dead Zone, Life During Wartime

I may not have had to choose from 30 people, but this was still a tough choice! Here it goes... Christian Bale He's been in a few popular movies such as Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. I thought those movies were pretty great, but he really caught my attention in The Prestige. That's one of my all time favorite movies. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale make the most handsome pair of rivals ever :) Adam Baldwin I think this guy plays the best co-star I've ever seen. I've only seen him in Firefly and Chuck, but he can be funny, tough, and oh so handsome all at the same time. :P Heath Ledger I cried the day Heath Ledger died. His smile makes me smile. He was in A Knight's Tale, 10 Things I Hate About You, and The Dark Knight. David Tennant So, I've only really seen David Tennant for too short a time in Harry Potter 4...However, he reminds me of someone... Plus, I hear he plays in Doctor Who?c(: Ian Somerhalder (: I get lost in those eyes. He's so amazingly good looking! He was in Lost, and now he's in The Vampire Diaries. His role in that show suits him extremely well.

Bale AND Ledger? I hope you have The Dark Knight on DVD. ... Holy crap that reminds me I got Firefly for Christmas. Which means I own the Saffron episodes............. Actually I think from my list the only actress who I don't own something by, movie or TV, is Bellucci.

You bet I do! Except Heath doesn't look AS handsome as the Joker... The girl that plays Saffron is such a great actress!

Btw Nathan, my dad got the first two seasons of Fringe for Christmas and I watched the pilot last night. Gotta say I think Anna Torv is a great choice. And... well I'm just gonna say this. Successful TV pilots know that if you have an attractive female lead (and why wouldn't you?) make sure you sexualize them a bit in the first episode. Having a bikini or underwear scene as part of the plot generally works nicely. See: Fringe, The X-Files, Firefly... Although from an artistic standpoint I thought these shots looked really nice:
