So I thought we should have a topic on good books to read. They don't have to be Bible study books, or even books that are labeled as christian, but they can't be 'bad' books:) I got in the mail the book "the cross and the switchblade" that other dya...i read it and it was really really good. Another book is lee stroebels "case for faith"...I'm nto very good about reading Biblet study books...I'd rather read a novel or soemthing like that but i found a case for faith to be really good.

If you enjoy mysteries, I highly recommend Agatha Christie's works. I have a feeling that not all of the books under her name have been written by her (though that's not uncommon) because of the content and writing style, but I've enjoyed almost every book by her. Jane Austin's writings are wonderful classics, too. Ray Blackston is a current Christian author who has written a trilogy following the lives of 20-somethins in South Carolina. That description makes them sound really boring... Actually, Ray Blackston is a great author and the stories are hilarious. I highly recommend those as well.

"The Bronze Bow" is historical fiction...set in the time of Jesus... The title is from a psalm i believe...he prepares my arms for war...he helps me to bend a bow of bronze....(very loosely paprphrased.) Also The Sign of the Beaver...about a teenage boy who is left to care for his family's homestead in the woods of Maine. He is befriended by an Indian boy about his age. They teach each other things. Go Pizwat!!!

Well, i love the author Elisabeth Elliot. She has writen to lovely books "Passion and Purity and Quest for Love. They go hand and hand so read P& P first. They are awesome books for the godly woman! Othere good books are "Girlfriend you are a B.A.B.E.", "Walk two Moons", "Kiss the Girl And Made them cry." " I kissed Dating Goodbye" just to name a few.

one of the best books i have ever read would i have to be When Dreams Come True: A Love Story Only God can write by Eric and Leslie Ludy, it is awesome and it really shows what God can do with your love life when you turn it completly over to him.

Hey everyone! I am in the middle of reading all the books from [i]the Left Behind[/i] series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins (I'm talking about the adult ones here, not the teen series) and I strongly reccomend that series to read. It is packed with action and helps the reader to better understand what the book of Revelation in the Bible is all about (the series is about the end times after the Rapture). If anyone likes murder mysteries, then I strongly reccomend the [i]Cat Who[/i] series by Lillian Jackson Braun. She is a phenominal writer and the books are really great! Oh, I also reccomend [i]Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl[/i]. That is a really great book and Anne Frank has been one of my favorite historical people to read about.

I have some good suggestions. Like you I also find more interest in novels than bible study books but I suggest the Chicken Soup for the Soul books because there is litterally one for everyone on any time and activity of there lives. If you want a novel though I would suggest Pinballs, Coraline, or Ida B. They are kids books but they're still really interesting and I would say anyone at any age would love them.

A REALLY good book is called The Ishbane Conspiracy. It was written by a family (I can't remember the name ofthe family though). It's about four teens and two of them are christians and the other two aren't, and the 2 christians try to save the non-christians but two demons are fighting the christians and you can see the letters the demons write back and forth to each other. Sound confusing??? Read the book- it's awesome.
