12. 1988 . 7 . 16 . Tokyo 31 years after World War III AD 2019 Neo Tokyo I couldn't resist. I just love this movie so much that when I first watched this movie, I actually understood why so many people just love this movie. Even my parents loved watching it when it first came out in theaters. In 1988, a kid name Akira gain psychic powers that three other kids posses, who look very creepy. He blew up most of Tokyo, somehow creating World War III. After that, Anti-government movements started to rise, street violence started to become the everyday lifestyle in Japan, and all of society started to fall apart. Kaneda, and his best friend Tensho, are the roles of the main characters, and are part of a motorcycle gang. Tensho then gains the psychic powers from one of the kids by accident, then turning him into the villian, which I had a hard time thinking if Akira was controlling him or not. The way how this movie was made was brilliant! The way how they made every single scene in this movie makes it feel that this will soon happen in the near future within the world at the time this was made. Nothing in this movie feels dull or fake. It really brings in the development of how aggressive and how gross out people will become within their actions against one another, and how corrupt politics and governments will become. It shows us that there is no reason to believe that the world will ever get any better and tells us how it is. The action scenes are the best parts of this movie. From the beginning to the end, it will keep you on your seat. Even the fighting between Psychic abilities and weapons makes it look cool. I'm not really anything else, or spoil anything to you, but go try to watch this movie. It is always considered to be one of the best anime movies ever made, thus making it on my list.

11. One of my favorite comedies. Well, at least that's what I think this is. Well, I'm calling it that, since that's what this show comes close to being. There is no other show that In have seen that is just as weird as this one. Naoto, who hangs out with Mamimi, who moved in and is also Naoto's brother's girlfriend, would get monster looking things out of his head. The weapon that they use is a electric guitar to bash their enemies. I'm dead serious. That's how the show goes. I feel as if it was suppose to be made in the 90's, since it does have more of a 90's feel to it, with all of the music, and the way how these kids act. As a matter in fact, it makes me bring myself back to the 90's, where the music was near its end of sounding good, with the Verb and Nirvana. The only problem with this series is that it was discontinued, and it was forced to end on the sixth episode. I don't know why, but I have heard that it was suppose to continue up to 2 seasons. There are mangas of this series, but I never made it through the first chapter. I don't know why. But what I do know is that there are only 2 volumes of it. If you guys are running out of animes to watch that are entertaining, and never watched this one or just wanna kill some time, watch FLCL. It will spare you a day or two of six episodes that will put a smile on your face.

Yesterday I had some internet problems. So I was unable to connect and post my 10th favorite. So this time, I won't just post 2. Oh no. I'm already ready for giving out all of my all time favorites right here, as many as I can today. I'm going on full throttle right here! 10. When this series first came out, I had no idea that it did. I found it as an accident. But when I watch the first episode on the same day it first came out, I was stunned. This show was just awesome in so many levels. And when I say that, I don't just mean the levels in the tower. I'm just a bit surprised that not too many people have ever heard of this movie before. I mean there are some here and there, but not once have I seen or heard even an anime fan ever once mention it. There's nothing wrong with it. The animation looks amazing, and the music is amazing too. The action is fast pace and cool to look at. It is funny at times, but doesn't overshadow the main plot to the show. The first episode was pretty hilarious, which is funny, because I'm not really into comic relief in just about anything that is made only for action. But this show really delivers. It was so good, that it actually has such a great happy ending, with a great conclusion, but that's all that I'm going to say about that. I will not try to attempt to spoil anything to you. 9. This is not just the first Miyazaki film that I have ever scene, but it is the first anime movie that I have ever seen at the age of five. So I always considered this one to be the start of my interest of anime. I really love how creative Hayao Miyazaki can be, but this is his best work to my perspective. I even rank it as one of my all time favorite movies on my msn messenger profile. Now all I have to do is just buy this movie. The best part about this film is that its made for everyone. Not just for kids, or babies, but also for adults. Anyone can watch this movie, and enjoy it for what it is, even for the cat bus that is in this with, with a giant raccoon making a giant creepy smile on the kids face, towering over them. Shoot, I was excited to see him in Toy Story 3. He was in it! The other interesting thing that I just found out is that Satsuki and Mei's house actually exists. The only difference is that it's not as big as the movie makes it to be. I really do have to appreciate and give credit to Hayao Miyazaki. He is like the Walt Disney of anime movies. Except that he isn't a free mason. I feel as if I despise of this movie, then I despise of my taste of anime. Its almost as if my love for anime is in the balance of Totoro, hanging on a cord that can snap by doing an irresponsible thing to it. 8. I can do a whole commentary on this whole show. Trigun was one of the first shows that I have seen on Adult Swim. The action is insane, the comedy is just funny and crazy to not like, and the characters are very unforgettable. The intro to this show is more like if James' Addiction and Jimmy Page helped make a song just for this one show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzHe4U5c5Oc I have never meet anyone in my life who ever watched this and say that they didn't like it. Vash is just someone who anyone can relate to. He's charming, nice, and is just brave to get into just about anything that comes in his way. His friends, Meryl and Milly, are great roles as his sidekicks. But the one who clearly steals the show as a supportive character is none other than Nicholas D. Wolfwood, who is a priest, and an expert gunman, who carries a huge cross that has multiple guns built into it. And it is a bit ironic that he is in, because the production assistant, Naoto Oyama, is a Christian, which explains why there are some biblical moments in the series. For example, in the episode of Murder Machine, Wolfwood uses a confession box of some sort, correct me if I'm wrong on that, that is shaped like a church. But in the manga, he said that the church is us. I had no idea when I was informed about that, since I never read the mangas till I bought the first volume of Trigun Maximum, which begins in the second half of the show. Actually, let's get into the manga for a sec. I have read only 3 volumes of Maximum, and I have to say that the mangas are far more superior than the show. The action is better, and the story is written better the way how its laid out. So in other words, I put the manga over the anime. It just serves a better story, and it makes a lot more sense the way they tell it. I know that there is a Trigun movie out in Japan, and I don't know if they are going to bring it here in America. Not even the voice actor, Johnny Yong Bosch, doesn't even know if they will hire him do to do the movie, once its been decided if the movie will come over here. And speaking of Johnny Yong Bosch... 7. Yup, so more Johnny Bosch for ya. This is the last mech anime I have seen since this July. This show just delivers something new and fresh within Japan, and it never gets old. I really love how this began with a short story line that didn't need at least another episode to know the story and the plot of the show. It tells you in plain daylight. The Brittanian Empire goes to Japan to take over the nation, as well as the others throughout the world. Japan is now taken under control, and now has its new name: Area 11. 7 years later, a rebellion begins with the Japanese fighting against the Brittanian take over. See, wasn't it that difficult? And no, I will not leave out the main character of the show, Lelouch, who is Brittanian, but hates the empire, after his father kicks him out of the family, due to his mother's death. And no, I did not spoil anything by saying that. He gets his new ability from a girl named C.C., and now has the power to command just about anyone with his left eye. From there on, he becomes into the infamous Zero, and takes control of the Japanese resistance. The thing that I love about Lelouch is that you really don't know if he is suppose to be either the good guy or will end up as the bad guy of the show. But I just think that he only talks like a bad guy. He is brilliant, and has the mind of a war hero. He normally uses his war strategies from a perspective of a chess player, and uses his battle plans as if he is playing chess, where he is king, and everyone else are like pawns to him. I have read the mangas, but I have to put the anime over this one. The action just isn't the same. They aren't using any mechs to fight in the beginning, and its pretty bland for something that is based in the near future. The story is the same, but the show just lays it out better. There is now a new manga series that is based in fetal Japan, and tells about the early years of the Brittanian empire at the time. So far, there are only 2 chapters, and they are pretty darn good so far. The other cool thing that I liked about this show was the music. The music in show would always tends to get better and better the more the series develops. The intros are also pretty cool too, making them one of my all time favorite intros. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0btAyMESc0 The third intro is okay, but there is something special about that one. Just listen to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=WW1ow8LNooQ&feature=related If you haven't guessed it, they did this other intro to this series: 6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTv_LorOv5s&p=C98FD312F2E6B763&playnext=1&index=1 Get prepared guys, because I'm about to praise the living daylights out of this one. I am still in the process of watching this show, and it feels almost as if this show will never end. Bleach has got to be probably one of the longest running series that has ever put on print and on air. And I don't blame Tite Kudo for making this series, because Bleach is just awesome. Some people for the longest time have wondered why its called Bleach. Some say its because his hair is bleached, and others have said that its from some Japanese spirit. I kind of believe the first theory, but I have to say that I don't know. Some have debated which one is better, Naruto or Bleach? Just by watching some of the episodes of Naruto, I hyave to give my answer, straight out loud: I hate it. Its just that the acting is much more better and the story feels more mature for the adult audience on Bleach. Some people have wondered if this show should be on Adult Swim, because they believe it doesn't look like something that belongs there. Well, if you watch further into the series, and listen carefully, it is more for adults than it is for kids. There is a massive amount of blood, and the women in this show could dress up a little more provocative. I really love the animation the most about this show. Everything about it looks colorful and vibrant. Every little thing about the show just looks appealing to look at, that you can't take your eyes off of it. The music is just great to listen to. I really love how they try to add in a little bit of everything into it. They even have a little bit of Latin American kind of style to it too. Like this, for example, which is one of my favorite songs in this show: http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=ZrsO6pSGUuY&feature=related And its not that this is the only best song that I like in this show, the rest is also incredible. I'm just going to put all of the songs that I adore in this show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wC1B-YhoHM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H74Wg-eh3dI http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=eR-gQer3m9E&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=dQjCtQds7hk&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=BfVChN9jxaA&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=E41E9D-gmco&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=851g7V54zqU There's also the fighting scenes in this show too. There are so many to choose from, but out of all of them, this is my favorite fight scene in the entire series. It's not in English sub, so please keep that in mind, and forgive me if that bothers you for the fact that you want to understand what they are saying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf2Bg1AwON8 Now, who is my favorite character? Everyone always put Hitsugaya as their favorite. I never liked him. I liked Kenpachi Zeraki better than everyone else. He truly proves that he can pwn anyone, and the one thing that he loves the most is the action. Nothing more. My favorite intro song? I had a difficult time figuring out if I liked the one that Orange Range wrote or the one Velonica made, but out of both of these, Velonica wins my vote. http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=1gjR5cq1QA0&feature=related I have to say that I prefer the mangas better, and its almost done. But due to the fact that the series was just license, who I really don't know, you can't read any of it anymore on any website to see how it will end. That's a shame, because I loved reading that series more than any other. But all we have to do is just wait for them to come in local book stores any time from now.

5. Talk about a series that brought anime to a whole new level. I have never read or even seen a show that was well written, and well originated before in my entire life. When I first read the plot to this story, I didn't believe that this was going to go anywhere. But after reading through the first few chapters, my mind was then blown away. The animation was perfect, the music was perfect, and the idea that you can kill people by writing people's names down, and having the world's greatest detective taking down the most smartest high school student in Japan was brilliant! I enjoyed just how the suspense in this show builds up. You just wanna how it all ends, whether or not if Light Yagami gets to have world domination or loses. I have read and watched both manga and anime, and I have to say that its more of a draw for me. Like I said earlier, I love the music and the animation, and I also like to add that the dubbed voice acting is great. I never knew that the voice of Inuyasha was going to do Light, the voice of Asuka from Neon Genesis was going to do MISA-MISA!! I love calling her that. I don't want to spoil anything else about this series, for those of you who never seen it before, but for my recommendation, I would start reading the mangas first. I think that is the better option for getting into this for first timers.

4. To me, there was debate on this one. I prefer this one over DBZ and GT. When I was in my first phase of an otaku freak, I was just watching DBZ. But I did know that there was Dragon Ball to begin with, however I didn't watch it for some reason. But after DBZ was over, and GT was just crap, I saw commercials of this show on Toonami. So I just felt as if I should give this one a try. I did, and I regret not wanting to watch this show in the first place. I was just blown away of how much action this show had, and how much better the music was. That, and the story was just simple to follow. There was a huge difference between this one and Z, that I couldn't believe my eyes. Goku is the same then as now, but more likable. Kirin did sucked, but as much. Piccalo was just scary, and to my opinion, the baddest bad guy in all of the anime that I have seen in the past. Before he became into the next Kirin, he was known to so many fans at the time as the toughest bad guy ever! Now he's just weak and left behind like a used rag in Z. After this series ended, it did get a little better, but the story and the music themselves started to get overrated and it just wasn't the same. It's not a bad series at all. That's not what I'm saying. Most of the movies were great, and the action was tight to watch. But as the series progress, it didn't feel like I was watching Dragon Ball, nor did it feel like Dragon Ball at all. GT was the final blow of putting the whole saga in a really bad rest of all of its boredom and lack of action that it provided. I have read the mangas, but as the same problems went for Bleach, the same could be said for Dragon Ball too. 3. I don't think anyone even knew that Japan could even make a great zombie flick till High School of the Dead came out, because this show is just amazing! The action is great, the music is great, and so far, the story is interesting. There is a huge outbreak that is not just happening in Japan, but then goes airborne. Right away, there's already a huge conspiracy floating around saying that the Japanese and the U.S. governments were the ones who caused it. But the main plot of the story is a group of six people who are from a High School who try to get to safety from the hoard of zombies, who are attracted to sound, and are taking over most of Japan. So they try to get to safety as well as trying to fight the zombies off. Plain and simple as that. The only thing that bothers me the most is just how provocative this show is. But maybe the animator is a whore, or just trying to attract the audience to get into this show. There is a manga to this, but I never read it. The one thing that I enjoy the most has got to be the licensed music that they use for this show. Every time they role with the credits, they don't use the same song. They use other songs to every episode. So what you get is something different. It's only been 8 episodes in the series, and its already worthy enough to be #3.

I'm back with a message saying that I have a few things to improve and correct on this topic. 1. Trigun. I have said that this show was made by one of the producers of the series, but I said wrong. What I thought I heard was Naito at first when I found that out. The name that I heard was actually none other than the creator himself, Yasuhiro Nightow. So you can actually understand how I got that wrong by reading the last name. 2. Trigun's story. I've now bought and started reading the 4th volume of the mangas, and I can tell you that the stories between the anime and the mangas are completely different. The plot is the same, however, the premise is very different in a way, and gives more info that the show never showed to begin with. I don't know why that is, but I would encourage you guys to check it out yourself to see what I mean. 3. Full Metal Panic. I know I admitted that I didn't have too much to say about it, but I forgot to add this. The action in this show is kind of like Code Geass. Even the people who is involved with the action are either adults or high school kids. I never really understood why anime does that a lot, but I never argued with that anyway. So if you like watching shows like Code Geass, then this show is really worth watching. You will have fun.

For those of you who are still coming to this topic and still wondering what numbers 1 and 2 are, I will have to make this commitment right now. I haven't made a conclusion on what is number 1 yet. What I am doing right now is watching both of these series to see what should reign supreme on my list. That, and I now have college that I'm attending. So wait and please be patient, because the last two will come soon.

Alright, the moment of truth has finally come. Now that I just finished watching both of my favorites that I'[m about to post, I can now safely reveal them to you. So here they are. 2. I have never watched a show in my entire life where I laughed so hard on almost every single episode. This is one of those shows that you will have a hard time watching of just how lol funny it is. You will love it, but at the same time hate it for just how hilarious it is. There were just some jokes in this show that I couldn't control myself out of laughter. When I first found out about, I only heard of it. But now when I watched it, I couldn't help myself. What surprised me the most is that the voice actor for Onizuka for the english dub is non other than the same guy who does Spike's voice from Cowboy Bebop. I never thought that he would even do this kind of role before in my entire life. He is just perfect at what he does. Every time you see the guy, you just want to know what he's going to do. The kids are also great, on how theyb try their hardest to get him fired. That's actually the main plot of this show. Onizuka is trying to be the GTO, and the Junior High school students are trying to get him fired. The one thing I must warn you about this show is that it does have some explicit content in it. And that is one of the reasons for why you can't read the mangas online anymore. Come on! Its not like Dragon Ball never had any naughty moments in it. Speaking of which, there are mangas for this series, but it went out of print, and now you can only buy them on ebay or amazon.com. I do also have to mention is that the music in this show is great to listen to. The intro music is just the best that I have seen in a long time. 1st Intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCZ2DR80Xb0 2nd Intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=GPiSerZLG5Q&feature=related The way how I look at this show is that it looks more like as if it was meant to be a live action show to begin with, but decided to turn it into an anime on the last minute. Just by looking at the animation on these people's faces could just be hilarious to look at. Onizuka's the best. I crack up just by looking at every single expression he has. The sad part about this show was that it never got an American release. I do wonder how that can be. If it didn't, then why did it have english dub in the first place? Oh well, who knows. I don't really care anyway, because I still love this show no matter how I look at it.
